Common Hogweed

Please be aware that it has come to our attention that Common Hogweed is present on the upper, western, reaches of the “Blackberry Path”. This is the path which runs parallel to the new “shared-use path” which links Ynys Newydd to New Mill Farm and Lon Olchfa.

Common Hogweed, is not Giant Hogweed, but the sap of Common Hogweed contains phototoxic chemicals that can cause blisters, burns and rashes on bare skin when exposed to sunlight. If there is contact with sap, wash the area with soap and cold water as soon as possible.
