Actif Woods – Walk 2 – 13th October 2020

Written byCVCP,

Week 2 of 6 in Clyne Valley with Actif Woods led by Andrew Price. The rain stopped as we started and the sun shone for the rest of the morning. A glorious Autumn day in a fascinating area. We explored the west side of the valley, taking in:

The Ivy Tower – once a flue for the arsenic works.

Andrew imparting pearls of wisdom to the group. He’s a mine of information and story.

A discarded dram, now covered with ivy.

An abundance of acorns. It’s a mast year when trees produce an abundance of fruit. Other years the quantity can be much less.

Old deer fencing.

Star moss.
