Bracken Trampling 29th & 30th May
We are organising two sessions of bracken trampling in Kate’s Orchard at the end of May 2024 and we would greatly appreciate your help with this task (each session will last a maximum of 2 hours).
All that is required is to tread on the bracken to bend and bruise it. The thinking is that bruised bracken (as opposed to cut bracken) will spend its energy trying to repair itself as opposed to putting up new shoots. The bracken will then not spread as much and will not shade and prevent other native flora from growing. The practice will hopefully increase biodiversity in the Valley.
Dates
Wednesday 29th of May at 1.30pm
Thursday 30th of May at 1.30 pm

Ynys Newydd car park, What3Words – ///clips.churn.sweat, Grid Ref – SS 6156 9145, Post Code SA2 8DU
